Lead Web Designer / Developer

Comit Developers looking for a skilled Lead Web Designer / Developer who will be responsible for developing and/or designing websites for our company. In addition the lead is expected to serve as a mentor for the development team and help manage processes and internal development projects. You will be working alongside a team of other developers in creating, maintaining, and updating our websites. In addition you will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure resources are appropriately allocated.

For you to succeed in this role, you will need to be proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript / JQuery, SASS, and WordPress and have solid knowledge of responsive design and SEO best practices. Knowledge of PHP and working with Divi is a plus but not required. You will also need to be comfortable with determining and setting deadlines and giving constructive feedback to your team. This position will also interact with the sales team to help provide accurate quotes for custom development.


Lead Web Designer / Developer Responsibilities

  • Use scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools, applications and digital media to design, build or maintain websites.
  • Confer with team members to resolve conflicts, prioritize needs, develop content criteria, or choose solutions.
  • Maintain an understanding of the latest web applications and programming practices.
  • Backup files from websites to local directories for recovery.
  • Identify problems uncovered by customer feedback and testing and correcting or referring problems to appropriate personnel for correction.
  • Evaluate code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
  • Determine user needs by analyzing technical requirements and provide estimates to sales.
  • Log time in an accurate manner in order to assist in detailed project progress reports.

Lead Web Designer / Developer Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in web development with some experience in a lead or management role.
  • Proficient in JavaScript / JQuery, HTML, CSS, SASS, WordPress; proficiency in Divi and PHP a plus but not required.
  • A proven eye for responsive design with attention to user experience and SEO best practices.
  • Able to effectively troubleshoot issues and create complete solutions.
  • Dedicated team player who can exchange ideas freely with co-workers and utilize constructive criticism in a professional matter.
  • Solid ability in both written and verbal communication with the ability to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them to the team and / or clients.
