Meet Helena Northcutt, our project manager and chief Lysol sprayer.
With killer attention to detail and cat-herding skills that are second-to-none, Helena keeps all of our projects moving. From managing client timelines to overseeing internal processes, Helena is the woman for the job when it comes to getting projects done on time and on budget!
How long have you worked in this industry?
I’ve been working in this industry for about nine years now—five of which have been with Comit Developers.
What are some of your responsibilities?
As the project manager, it’s my responsibility to keep all of our clients informed and to keep all of our projects moving throughout the production process. Since I’m the handler of all the moving parts and pieces, I also help to organize our team’s workloads.
What does a typical day look like for you?
(Pre-COVID) My weekdays start at 4:30AM so I can squeeze everything in! I start off with a good workout, then get my three boys up, fed and off to school before heading into the office for 7:30AM. I start my day by creating a to-do list and logging any remaining time from the day before. Then, I review any deliverables I’m waiting on from my team and check in with them for status updates. Once I have more information on any outstanding pieces, I update my clients with items they’re waiting on from us and get status updates from them on any items we’re awaiting—usually with a few meetings thrown in the mix. After that, I head home to do homework with the kiddos and then you will likely find us at the soccer park until after dark.
What made you choose this profession?
I came across an opportunity I couldn’t pass up!
What’s your favorite part of what you do?
I think my favorite part of this job is the structure, and I love when we’re able to deliver an awesome website to happy clients—especially if it’s under budget!
What are your hobbies or interests outside of the office?
Three boys on five different soccer teams doesn’t leave much room for hobbies other than soccer! However, when we’re not at the park, I enjoy planning (and, of course, going on) family vacations.
Would you rather be forced to dance every time you heard music or be forced to sing along to any song you heard?
Hmm…let’s dance!
